SMS Terms & Consent

Last updated: 2026-05-07

These SMS Terms describe the text-messaging program operated by Bool (“Bool,” “we,” “us”), how consent works for that program, what kinds of messages you can expect, and how to stop receiving them at any time. They supplement (and do not replace) our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. Program Description

Bool operates an SMS-to-Bool program. When you text a description of an app you want to build to our published phone number, our system creates a “Bool” project on your behalf, generates the code, deploys it, and texts you back a link to view and edit the finished app.

2. How Consent Works

Bool's SMS program is built on implied consent: by texting our published phone number first, you are asking us to reply. That inbound message, together with our reply, is the record of your consent for that exchange.

  • Our reply is purpose-limited — we only respond to the specific request you sent (for example, to acknowledge that we started building your app and to text the deployed link when it is ready).
  • We do not use your phone number to send unrelated marketing, promotional, recurring, or campaign messages. If we ever wanted to send those, we would first collect explicit prior express written consent through a separate opt-in flow.
  • Each new app request you text us is its own implied-consent exchange.

3. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies and depends entirely on how many app requests you send us. For a typical exchange you can expect:

  • One acknowledgement reply confirming we received your request.
  • One follow-up reply with the live and editor links once the app finishes generating.
  • Replies to STOP, START, or HELP keywords as described below.

4. Costs

Message and data rates may apply. Bool does not charge you to send or receive SMS, but your wireless carrier's standard message and data rates may apply to each message sent or received. Contact your carrier for details about your plan.

5. How to Opt Out (STOP)

You can opt out of Bool's SMS program at any time by replying with any of these keywords (case-insensitive): STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT.

After we receive your opt-out, our carrier (Twilio) will deliver a final confirmation message and we will not send you any further SMS. We also record your opt-out internally so that no automated system attempts to text you again.

6. How to Opt Back In (START)

If you change your mind, you can opt back in by replying with START, UNSTOP, or YES. We will lift the opt-out and reply with a confirmation. You can also resume the program simply by texting us a new app request after opting back in.

7. Help (HELP)

Reply HELP or INFO at any time to receive a message identifying Bool and explaining how the program works. For additional support, email hello@bool.com.

8. Information We Collect Through SMS

When you text our number, we collect and store:

  • The phone number you texted from (in E.164 format).
  • The body of each message you send, which we treat as the prompt for the app you want built.
  • Timestamps and message metadata Twilio provides on the inbound webhook.
  • The Bool project we create on your behalf, plus any subsequent SMS we send you.
  • An opt-out record if you ever text a STOP-class keyword.

We use this information to operate the SMS-to-Bool program: routing replies back to you, linking SMS-created projects to your account if your phone number matches an existing user, honoring opt-outs, and producing the audit log Twilio and US carriers may request to verify compliance.

We do not sell your phone number. We do not share mobile-originated information (your phone number or message content) with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We do share it with our SMS infrastructure provider (Twilio) strictly to deliver and receive messages on our behalf, and with subprocessors as required to operate the service. See our Privacy Policy for the full list and for your data-rights options.

9. Supported Carriers & Disclaimer

The SMS program is available on most major US wireless carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. SMS delivery is provided on an as-available basis; we cannot guarantee delivery to every carrier or device.

10. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) and the authorized user of the phone number you text from to participate in the SMS program.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continuing to text us after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
