Plans and billing

Plans and billing

Bool has three plans: Free, Plus, and Team.

Free

  • Up to 5 published (live) Bools, and 5 subdomains
  • A built-in database for every project
  • Invite collaborators to edit with you (their usage bills your workspace’s credits, not theirs — this isn’t a paid-only feature)
  • Uploads up to 10MB via Drop
  • Projects are public only — no private live-access option
  • Published apps show the “Built with Bool” badge

Plus

Everything in Free, plus:

  • Unlimited published Bools and subdomains
  • Private projects — restrict live access to people you invite
  • Custom domains — use a domain you own instead of <slug>.bool.so
  • Remove the “Built with Bool” badge
  • Larger uploads via Drop (25MB)

Team

Everything in Plus, plus:

  • A shared team workspace with member roles and permissions
  • Workspace-wide sharing — grant editor or live access to the whole workspace at once, instead of person by person
  • Workspace-managed custom domains
  • Centralized, seat-based billing and credits across the team

Managing your subscription

Go to SettingsBilling to upgrade, downgrade, or manage payment details through the Stripe customer portal.

Credits

Separately from what your plan tier unlocks, Bool meters your usage in credits. Every message you send Bool costs credits — longer, more complex work costs more than a small tweak.

Credits pay for your work in the editor. The built-in features your published apps use are metered separately, as app credits — see below.

PlanCredits
Free30 per month
Plus100–2,000 per month, by tier
Team150 per seat, pooled

Credits reset every 30 days from the day you subscribed, not on the first of the month. An unused balance carries into the next period once, on every plan — so credits last at most about 60 days if you don’t spend them. Settings → Usage shows your balance and the current period’s dates.

Collaborators you invite spend the credits of the workspace they’re building in, not their own — inviting someone doesn’t require them to have a paid plan.

On Free there’s also a daily limit, so a single day can’t drain the month. Plus and Team have no daily limit.

If you run out or hit the daily limit, Bool tells you in chat. Upgrading your plan, or waiting for the next reset, resolves it.

App credits

Credits above pay for your own chats with Bool. App credits are a second, separate pool that pays for the built-in features your published apps use at runtime — AI in your app and calls to APIs you’ve stored a key for, with more coming. Your visitors don’t pay for anything; the workspace that owns the app does.

PlanApp credits
Free100 per month
Plus2,000–100,000 per month, by tier
Team3,750 per seat, pooled

An AI call is charged for what it costs to run, so a long prompt or a long answer costs more than a short one. A typical AI message settles at about 1 app credit, which makes Plus tier 1’s 2,000 roughly 2,000 AI messages a month.

App credits scale faster than the price as you move up the Plus tiers: tier 1 buys 100 app credits per dollar, and the top tiers buy 250. So a higher tier gets you more credits for your own chats and proportionally more than that for what your published apps run.

App credits reset on the same 30-day clock as your credits above — one period, both pools. Settings → Usage shows the balance and the current period.

On Plus and Team, an unused balance carries into the next period once, capped at one period’s worth — so app credits last at most about 60 days. Free doesn’t carry over.

Each published app can also spend at most a quarter of the pool per day (60 minimum), so one busy app can’t drain the pool and take your other apps down with it. This daily limit applies on every plan, including Plus and Team.

If a published app runs out

The app keeps working; only the built-in feature that ran out stops, and it says so in place. You’ll get an email when it happens, so you don’t hear it from your users first.

There’s no way to buy app credits on their own. To get more:

  • On Free, upgrade to Plus — the extra app credits land immediately, not at the next reset.
  • On any paid Plus tier, move up a tier — the extra app credits land immediately — or wait for the pool to reset.

If your app needs more than a paid plan allots, get in touch before you build on it.
